1000Wishes
With our Plastic Soup album we got a lot of media interest because of the fact that we brought
this environmental problem to the attention of a larger audience.
The success of the Plastic Soup album brought us to the conclusion that we as a band can make a difference when it
comes to public awareness for social and environmental issues.
For our next album we decided that we would pick another topic which needed attention from the media.
Since we are all family men we choose a theme that was very close to our hearts.
Our next album will be about a problem not many people want to talk about.
Nobody wants to talk about diseases like cancer. Especially in children.
That’s exactly why we choose this topic. We must talk about this terrible
disease to make people aware that there is a lot of money and
research needed to find a cure for cancer in children.
This is why we contacted the Dutch organisation Kika ( Kinderen Kankervrij
/ Children Cancer free ) and asked them if we could
contribute in their cause. When talking to the people of
Kika we where impressed by their passion and determination.
We are proud that we may represent Kika and make a
difference in the fight against cancer in children. We will
do that by releasing our 1000Wishes album which tells the
story of the young boy Erik and his battle against cancer.
All benefit of the album, book and concerts will go to Kika.
Hofstad Youth Orchestra
For the 1000Wishes album we are currently writing parts for a symphonic orchestra. It has always been a wish to
perform with an orchestra and now this dream will become reality in 2012.
Since PBII is a band who finds it’s origin in The Hague it is not a
surprise that we contacted the “Hofstad Youth Orchestra” which is based in the same city.
After talking to conductor Marcel Geraeds we found out that this person
was the right one for us. He shares the same passion for music and gladly wants to contribute to the Kika project.
The “Hofstad Youth Orchestra” will be recording their parts in the
studio and will also perform together with PBII during the great gala night at the end of 2012.
Arranger and composer Marco C. The Bruin ( the curious composer ) is going to make the arrangements for the Orchestra based
on the orchestral PBII parts. This musician has composed and arranged many parts for famous Dutch music groups and artists.
We are very lucky to have these two on board !

Ronald van der Pol
Ronald van der Pol - Writer
After reading an interview with Ronald in the Dutch progressive rock
magazine IO-pages we got an idea. We already had the basic outline of the story which we wanted to translate to music.
But what if there would be a storybook to go along with the CD which would tell the whole story for everyone to read ?
We contacted Ronald van der Pol and found out that we once again hit the jackpot.
The gifted writer did not hestite for one minute and wanted to start immediately. The story is based on the
idea of Alex van Elswijk and tells the tale of a young boy and his heroic battle against cancer.
To make shure that his story is accurate Ronald went to see several specialists
in Childrens hospitals. Since we are dealing with such a delicate subject we think it is very important that we tell
the story in the right way with the utmost respect.
The name of the book will be the same as the album and will be released together in one beautiful package.
Kika (Children cancer-free)
is soliciting funds for this special
research, that could help children to beat cancer faster.
Thanks to information from now-completed gene research, the paediatric oncology specialists are
convinced that we can develop new treatments that can cure child cancer not only more often but
in a ‘child friendlier’ manner. But it does mean that we absolutely have to start innovative
research specifically focused on child cancer.
To be precisely: to do research that the specialists can use to make
therapies faster available for
better treatment and the cure of child cancer. For:
Less pain, less struggle. More cures, more
quality. The result is a bigger change to survive
That's why Kika asks for your support, because children rather recover yesterday then today
The goal is to raise funds for Kika by doing concerts and the selling of the CD and book.
To ensure that the profits are for Kika we have established a foundation called Toekomstmuziek - music for a future.
This will be done for free by notary Franke in Naaldwijk (Holland)

Perry Hokke of
Elm Visuals
is willingly to make a trailer for the 1000Wishes project.
With this trailer we can give more information in a audio visual way.
A very important thing is to make the arrangement for the orchestra parts. Marco C. de Bruin will do this for us.
He is already doing this for a lot of famous orchestras for
example a Dutch orchestra called "Metropole orkest"
So we are proud that we have a professional composer who proved himself
already.
